ELEMENTARY PROGRAM
 Grade 1 to 8

At Children’s Montessori & Preparatory School, we carefully work to provide an academic program that blends Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy of preparing students for all aspects of life with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum to ensure that, as our students grow, they have access to the best of both educational approaches. We welcome students from grade 1 to 8 both from our Casa program and those from other learning environments, and we feature a low student-teacher ratio throughout the school.

Our CMS staff offer dynamic and enriched education experiences that include a variety of opportunities that help us meet the needs of the whole child.  Students enjoy a wide range of opportunities including art, drama, music, public speaking, chess club, and community service.  Our teachers incorporate experiential, problem-base, and curricular learning techniques to build the foundation for success in their future education.

We are committed to providing
a friendly and welcoming learning environment with a goal of fostering critical thinking and creativity, healthy bodies and minds, and social and community engagement.

Making a Difference

In everything we do at CMS, we strive to be socially conscious and community-minded. Our students carry forward these values and this sense of commitment in their impressive secondary and post- secondary pursuits across the country and beyond. As part of our program at every level, students will learn how to make a difference where they live, learn and play.

In the past we have supported and assisted many local programs and larger foundations, including (but not limited to):

  • YES - Youth Emergency Shelter

  • YWCA - Walk-a-Mile

  • Terry Fox Foundation

  • The Warming Room (currently One City)

  • Salvation Army Food Bank

  • St. John's Retirement Residence

  • New Canadians Centre

  • Sacred Heart Food Bank Program
